At BCA, we continue in our drive to reverse the national trend of secondary school students being turned off from being physically active (see posts such as Girls Participation in PE).
Last week, students in KS3 participated in a lesson called “let me take a selfie”.
Aim – use the surrounding Duchy woodland as a back drop for you taking a selfie on a mobile device.
Selfies were given a score when the students return from their expedition.
Extra points for:
– the further away from school you take it.
– if you have an animal in the background (e.g. cow, pheasant)
– if you are performing a gymnastic balance e.g. handstand
This managed to stretch and challenge students in a range of abilities (creative, social, physical)
Engagement was outstanding from both boys and girls.
