CLF – Annual Teaching and Learning Conference

As Culverhay School is preparing to convert to a Co-educational Academy from September 2012, all staff have been invited to the annual Cabot Learning Federation conference at the University of the West of England (UWE).

As part of my specialist leader in education (SLE) role, I am involved in two workshops. These are:

– Outstanding Outcomes in PE- Closing the gap
– Behaviour for learning question panel (similar to question time format).

The Jump Cabot video (produced by Tom Hooper) that was part of an action research project for my Emerging Senior Leaders course (CLF) is being premiered in front of 700+ staff.

The CLF teaching School is developing a growing digital library of Research and Development projects that are being carried out by their middle and senior leaders. I will be providing each group with an Ipad during my PE workshop. At the end of the workshop, the delegates will be asked to reflect on their learning and write about action they can take and the challenges / barriers they face.

I am going to use this blog to host the reflections, which can then be used to produce a document for the R&D library.

Having 23 PE specialists in one place, discussing outstanding teaching and learning and how to ‘close the gap’ is too good an opportunity to miss in terms of producing a formal, informative, reflective and challenging document for other professionals to access.
