Last week I thought of a challenge to set my high flying year 9’s – To build a free standing structure, which will be measured from the closest points of the base. The largest span, would win the competition. The lesson was based in a wooded area, which has recently had many trees cut down.
All groups worked really well and produced some brilliant designs, all of which were quite different.
This week, they had to design and build a free standing structure, with a horizontal bridge, which was required to suspend as many shot puts as possible (up to 5).
Have a look at some of the designs!
Excellent social, creative and personal skills.
